The Integrated Care Strategy
The Integrated Care Strategy highlights opportunities for information technology to deliver better quality, more efficient care, closer to people’s homes and communities.
In delivering the strategy, we are working to understand the barriers to digital inclusion so we can work together to address those barriers and ensure people can access the services and support they need.
Digital Inclusion
The focus of the digital strategic priority has been to understand and tackle the barriers to digital inclusion. The Integrated Care Partnership co-ordinated a digital inclusion survey conducted between June and October 2024, which was carried out online and with paper copies. The digital inclusion survey had 700 respondents and identified that while many patients enjoyed the convenience of online services, there were patients who did not use online services or who had negative experiences. The main issues identified for not going online were:
- Concerns about the safety and security of health services
- Lack of access (either equipment or connectivity)
- Lack of digital skills
The survey findings were shared at a digital inclusion assembly in March 2025 attended by 40 people from the voluntary sector, local authorities, NHS providers and the police.
The insights from the survey and other engagement will inform the delivery of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Digital Strategy.
