Your AHP Support Workforce Lead for HIOW: Leo Murungi
My Role has been created to:
- Implement the HIOW AHP support worker strategy
- Establish a community of practice across the system that represents AHP support workers
- Ensure that the work of AHP support workers is recognised and celebrated
As a support worker myself, I am really keen to understand the challenges that AHP support workers across the system are facing and be a voice in order to address these themes. I also want to utilise the existing skills and passion of support workers keen to be part of AHP support worker development – please get in touch at leo.murungi@nhs.net

The HIOW AHP Support Worker Strategy was created to provide clarity on how Hampshire Isle of Wight Intergrated Care System will work collectively to support the implementation of the national competency, education and career development framework. Nurturing our local talent and ensuring both our current AHP Support workforce is represented, working to the top of their scope and understanding the progression pathways available to them. Finally ensuring the future AHP Support workforce is truly representative of the local communities which we serve.
