More than 62 per cent of residents in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight are using the NHS App to order prescriptions, make appointments and view their test results. It is a great resource that gives residents a simple and secure way to access a range of NHS services at their fingertips.
The App allows patients to view their GP health record and helps people to better manage their condition without having to phone their GP surgery. People can also access consultation notes, test results and future appointments.
Patients are being encouraged to switch on their notifications within the app, to ensure that they receive messages directly from their GP practice. Instructions on how to turn on notifications can be found here: Managing NHS App notifications
Beverley Braybrook, a resident from Test Valley who regularly uses the app was asked why she likes it, she said: “I am able to make appointments to see my doctor without having to wait in a telephone queue, order repeat prescriptions and review my test results all from the comfort of my armchair. The surgery can send me messages and reminders via the app which is really helpful.”
