A foreword to the Palliative Care Strategy
We are delighted to support this strategy which has been jointly developed with contributions from our communities and partners from across Hampshire and Isle of Wight with the Palliative and End of Life Care (PEOLC) Board. Supporting those in their last years of life is as vital as supporting those at the beginning of their life.
This strategy pulls together the learning of past strategies, lived experience of our people and communities, and the wealth of expertise in our staff that work every day to provide the very best innovative, evidence-based care. The development of staff and expertise across all settings, underpins the delivery of care, innovation and opportunities to progress research in a way that further enhances delivery of care. Inclusiveness and embracing diversity across our system helps further shape palliative and end of life care for people in ways that matter to them, a key element which underpins this strategy.
As clinicians we are committed to providing the very best of care with a strong ambition of continuous improvement, working with people and communities in all we do to progress the experience of individuals. We are delighted to recommend and support this strategy as a demonstration of this.
