Across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight work is already underway to deliver progress towards the Government's 10-Year Health Plan for England, such as through one-stop-shop local health centres and the introduction of Dora, an artificial intelligent telephone assistant helping to bring down waits for cataract surgery.

Many practices within Hampshire and Isle of Wight are participating in a flexible commissioning scheme, which offers extra NHS dentistry sessions for patients who require additional treatment after receiving care for an urgent dental need. The scheme will also provide routine check-ups for specific patient cohorts. Patients do not need to be known to, or associated with, the practice to access these sessions.

Patients who need prescription medication may be able to get it directly from a pharmacy, without a GP appointment, for seven common conditions - including earache, sore throat, or urinary tract infections.
